Cunnamulla champ Cindy’s wise words

The gregarious Aunty Cindy Anderson made the choice to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect the mums, bubs and grannies of the community.

The gregarious Mardigan woman takes her role as Elder for Mums and Bubs at the Health Centre of the Cunnamulla Aboriginal Corporation for Health very seriously.

“My choice to get the vaccine is because I work with little kids all the time,” Aunty Cindy said.

“And for health reasons, for our community.

She’s also got a warning for mob who are taking a ‘wait and see’ approach to getting the COVID vaccine.

“They should get it done because it’s getting closer our little community and the more everyone’s vaccinated – the longer they can live,” Aunty Cindy laughs.

Aunty Cindy said that getting her COVID vaccination was just the same as any other immunisation.

“I didn’t feel any different because everyone was saying that there’s aches and pains and headaches, but I get that all the time (laughs), so I didn’t feel anything after the needle.

“It was just like getting immunised.

“I made the choice to vet vaccinated to protect my grannies and my community!”
