Franklin O’Brien is a born and bred Yarrabah local with two COVID-19 jabs under his belt.
Franklin made the choice to get vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect the ones he most cares about.
“I made the choice cause of my mum, she’s sick,” Mr O’Brien said.
“I feel like it’s for her health,” he said.
“My nana, she’s still alive, and my papa, I got it for their health and for the community.”
Like the vast majority of 4.4 billion others who have received the jab, Franklin’s experience of the jab was completely uneventful.
“It’s just like normal, like a flu shot,” he said.
“When I got mine, it was just right, normal. I was happy.”
Franklin said that the nurses who gave him his COVID-19 vaccines were very kind and professional and explained everything to him beforehand.
He also had some advice for some Yarrie mob who might be scared of getting the vaccine.
“I’d just have a bit of a talk with them, tell them don’t think negative.
“Just think positive and go forward.
“You think negative, you’re gonna get nowhere – you’ll just go back to the same old thing.”
