Living with COVID-19 primary care package guidelines and PPE order form

The Australian Government announced the $180 million Living with COVID-19 Primary Care Package to further strengthen and support the health system as high vaccination levels allow Australia to open up.

As part of this package and to support the safe management of COVID-19 positive patients the Government is making additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Pulse Oximeters available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Services (ATSICCHS) caring for COVID positive patients only.

Public health measures linked to vaccination status

From 17 December 2021, customers are required to to show proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status when they check into many Queensland locations and businesses that will be restricted to fully vaccinated customers and visitors.

UPDATED – Changes ahead for COVID close contacts

Changes to the requirements for close and casual contacts will be bought forward from 1 January 2022 to 22 December 2021.

That means, for fully vaccinated close contacts of COVID-19 patients, the quarantine period will be halved from 14 days to seven (7) days from tomorrow (22 December). Close contacts will still be required to get tested on day zero and day five of their quarantine period, and after this time if they develop any symptoms.

This is consistent with the national guidelines.
